Karlene Lawrence now works part-time as the Publications Coordinator. She retired in Jan. 2011 after 30 years of employment with the UGA Athletic Association as the Manger of Internet Operations/Publications Coordinator.
Karlene is a member of Tuckston Methodist Church since 1982 and serves as a leader for the Stephen Ministry program.
She is a graduate of Chatham Township High School in Chatham, N.J., and attended Endicott Jr. College.
Karlene is married to Kent Lawrence, a 1968 graduate of Georgia and a football lettermen. They have five children: Kimberly, a Georgia graduate, married to Mark Costello; Bobby, a graduate of the University of Kentucky and married to the former Christine Tegtmeier; Kelley, a UGA graduate, married the former Sarah Kaiser; John, a UGA graduate; and Kami who is married to Chris Roberts, both Georgia graduates.
They have five grandchildren: Lauren and Andrew Costello, Joshua and Kellen Roberts, and Bobby Longmire.
