The University of Georgia Athletic Association and IMG Georgia Sports Marketing are proud to launch a new web design for the official website of the Georgia Bulldogs, georgiadogs.com. The new georgiadogs.com design will offer the same great content in a cleaner, easier to navigate package.
"We hope that fans who visit the web site will be pleased with the new design and functionality," said Director of Online Content Rick Starratt. "It is always hard when redesigning a web site to take into account the needs of every user but we tried our best to simplify everything."
"We tried to identify what worked and what didn't and incorporate the best designs into our new design. We think we came away with a much cleaner look that still includes all the great things that fans have come to expect from georgiadogs.com."
The first major change is the lighter and less-congested design. The site's color palette has been brightened, removing the darker elements. The new branding initiative with the proprietary font Bulldogs Bold and some of the new marks and logos that were announced earlier in the year have been utilized as well. One of the major changes is the main navigation bar, which has been moved to the very top of the page and will remain there throughout the site. No matter what page you visit and no matter where you scroll on the page, the top navigation will be in the same place. The text within the navigation drop down has been enlarged and quick links in the sports menu to the most visited pages have been added.
Another major change is the headlines area on the front page and the sport home pages. In trying to make the web site cleaner and less cluttered, some of the major areas of interest have been grouped into tabs atop this section. In these tabs you will find the top stories, schedules and results, videos, social media, upcoming promotions and a section for shopping. Our hope is that fans will page through the tabs frequently and since this does not cause the page to refresh it will be faster and easier to find useful information. For instance, the scores/schedules tab displays yesterday's results, today's games, and links for today's live audio, video, and Gametracker.
Georgiadogs.com will continue to offer videos and news throughout each day. The content that you have been used to will remain the same.
