ATHENS, Ga. --- The University of Georgia Athletic Association will host a career fair on Tuesday afternoon for student-athletes from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Coliseum Training Facility basketball practice gym.
Approximately 30 companies will be in attendance to discuss career opportunities with Georgia's juniors, seniors, fifth-year students, graduate assistants, interns and recent graduates.
"We are very thankful to all of the companies that are coming to the career fair," said Executive Associate Athletic Director Carla Williams, who oversees student services. "The goal of the career fair is job placement. We spend a lot of time and resources preparing our student-athletes for careers.
"The career fair gives us an opportunity to help us with job placement. We also have students who are looking to go into graduate school, so we will have the graduate school there and a couple of graduate programs, so that should be very helpful as well."
Participating in the career fair will be AFLAC, Benton and Parker Commercial Insurance, Capstone Financial Partners, Cintas Corporation, Coldwell Banker Commercial MetroBrokers, Cotton States, Eli Lilly and Company, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, IMG, LAD Truck Lines, Inc., Marine Corps, Nalley Automotive Group/Asbury Automotive Group, National Guard, Northwestern Mutual, Oconee County Schools, Outdoor Advantage, Paychex, Peachtree Planning Corporation, Penske, Resolution Technologies, Shaw Industries, State Farm and State Farm - Operations, Sterling Risk Advisors, St. Mary's, UGA Graduate School, UGA's Sports Management Department and Waffle House.
