Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall
The project to expand and renovate the Butts-Mehre building took approximately 30 months to complete. Completed in November 2012, the project consisted of the addition of a new weight training room, athletic training facility, a multi-purpose area, and new coaches offices and meeting rooms for each position. The project also included the addition of grass practice fields and renovations to the existing Butts-Mehre building.
The lower level houses the players' headquarters. Included are spacious locker rooms, an equipment room, and a player's lounge. The locker room area opens out onto the practice field complex consisting of three full-length fields.
The second level of Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall houses the sports communications office equipped with a full production studio and a work area for the media. It also houses the Larry Munson Trophy Room, a display featuring awards and trophies Georgia Football has gathered through the years. The second level also opens up to the extension where the new football offices are located.
The third and fourth floors are the focal point of the complex. In addition to housing the administrative offices of the Georgia Athletic Association, the area serves as the Georgia Bulldog Hall of Fame.
Probably the most exciting aspect to the average fan is the Hall of Fame museum. Here, in the rotunda under the domed roof, are many exhibits and memorabilia tracing the long and proud heritage of all Georgia's athletic programs. In addition, recently upgraded touch-screen displays containing video highlights of Georgia's football history offer the chance to relive great Bulldog moments.
Visitor parking is available in the front of the facility; however, there is no bus parking available on site at the Butts-Mehre Building. For more visitor information, please contact 706-542-9036 or for information regarding parking, please contact 706-542-7275.
