Melvin Robinson joined the Georgia staff in August of 2007 as Director of Basketball Operations. In that capacity, he oversees a wide variety of tasks, including supervision of the Bulldogs’ academic progress, as well as implementation and monitoring of the program’s budget .
Robinson came to Georgia after two years at his alma mater, Clemson University, where he served as an academic advisor for the men’s basketball and men’s track teams.
Robinson is a 1999 Clemson graduate who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education and mathematics. He earned a Master of Education in guidance and counseling with an emphasis in student affairs from Clemson in 2002.
Robinson served as an academic counselor and math specialist at the University of Maryland from 2001-03, where he worked with the men’s basketball and women’s field hockey teams, programs that have both won national championships in recent years.
He also has experience as a math teacher at Albert Einstein High School in Maryland, and the Redland School in Rockville, Maryland. He was math department chair at The Redland School prior to returning to Clemson 2005. Robinson also coached the basketball and baseball teams while at Einstein HS.
Robinson and his wife Carolina Douglas Robinson have a son, Andre, and a daughter, Elisa.
