The Bulldogs' lone 4-year senior, Woodbury will be summoned for a more "leaderly" presence on the 2009 squad.
His late-season on-court performance lent credence to his ability to handle such a responsibility. 2007-08 Season
Started all 34 games but struggled with shooting woes through much of
the season. Will be remembered, though, for his red-hot streak through
the postseason, when he spearheaded Georgia's perimeter attack.
Selected to the All-SEC Tournament team after he averaged 15.8 points
over the 4-game stretch, including a career-high 25 in the first-round
win over Ole Miss. Hot streak actually began in the regular-season finale, an 18-point effort (4x10 from 3-point range) in a loss to Ole Miss.
Best effort in the non-conference schedule was his 15-point (2x4 on 3FGs), 5-assist game in Georgia's win over Wake Forest. Had a steal, bucket, offensive rebound and two free throws in the final 2:00 to preserve Georgia's win over Elon.
Georgia's leading scorer in its loss at Wisconsin. His 38 minutes in Georgia's NCAA Tournament game vs. Xavier were a career high. 2006-07 Season Because of his truncated rookie year, he spent much of his sophomore year still finding his way on the collegiate level.
Showed bursts of outstanding play, such as the 17-point and 13-point efforts against Valdosta State and S.C. State. Missed the Alabama game to attend his grandmother's funeral in Virginia.
Top two efforts in SEC schedule came against Kentucky. Scored 16 in
the first matchup in Athens, including four in overtime. A starter in
the return game at Lexington, he pumped in a career-high 18 points and
played 35 minutes, also a career best.
2005-06 Season A
season that began with such promise ended early for Woodbury, who was
diagnosed in early February with a stress fracture to a vertebra in his
spine. Scored 14 points in his collegiate debut vs. Old Dominion.
Sprained his left knee on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, however. An
MRI exam later that day revealed an injury that was dangerously close
to a torn MCL.
Missed 10 games while mending his injured knee. Dressed out for the
Howard game Jan. 2 for the first time since the Paradise Jam tournament
on Nov. 21.
Played superbly in his return vs. Florida. High School Regarded among the top 10 prospects in Virginia from the Class of 2005.
Played his senior season at Coastal Christian Academy, averaging 16.8
points per contest, after transferring from Granby High School in
Norfolk.
Coastal Christian was one of the nation's top prep school teams of 2005, winning 35 of the 41 games the Hurricanes played. Averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds for Granby in 2004.
