2008-09 Season • Given his injury-plagued freshman year, Barnes progressed as much as any player in the Georgia program as a sophomore. • Was rock-solid in two of the Bulldogs’ toughest games of the season: 7 pts., 10 rebs. in 22 minutes @Western Ky...11 pts in 16 min. vs. Va. Tech. • His 10 boards at WKU are his career best. • Only other double-figure scoring game was a 10-point effort in regular-season finale vs. South Carolina. Also had eight boards against the Gamecocks.
2007-08 Season • Promising freshman season was cut short by a knee injury in the Feb. 16 game vs. Tennessee. • Suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in that game. Was healthy and available by the NCAA Tournament but was withheld from competition. • Had become an important reserve in Georgia’s frontcourt before his injury. Showed in his limited court time that he was perhaps the Bulldogs’ best offensive rebounder. • Recorded a double-double in his first collegiate game, with 14 points (all in the 2nd half) and 10 rebounds vs. Jax State. • Played all the significant minutes in Georgia’s win vs. Elon. • Season-high of nine rebounds came in just 16 minutes Jan. 26 at Tennessee. • Missed the South Carolina game on Feb. 13 because of an eye infection that temporarily blurred his vision. High School • Averaged 20.1 points, 10 rebounds and 5.1 blocks as a senior at Riverdale. • Riverdale went 58-19 during his two seasons there. • Rated the 36th-best power forward in the country by Rivals.com heading into his senior season at Riverdale. • Missed part of his senior season after undergoing knee surgery in January of 2007. • Averaged 17.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a junior. • Played AAU basketball for Team Georgia Elite. • Also participated in football, soccer and track in high school.
