WINDERMERE, Fla. --- The third-ranked Georgia men’s golf team continued its dominance at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs claimed their fourth team title and their fourth medalist in the five-year existence of the tournament. On Tuesday, Georgia capped a 17-stroke victory over Alabama, while sophomore Russell Henley claimed the individual crown by two shots.

“I could not be prouder of our team,” Georgia coach Chris Haack said. “We have had our share of success down here, but every year is certainly different. In fact, just this week alone, every round was certainly different. But we found a way to pull it all together again, and I am very pleased about that.”

The Bulldogs wound up at 3-over-par 867, despite a final-round 8-over 296 (their highest effort of the tournament). Alabama was next at 20-over 884.

Henley finished at 4-under 212, closing with a 2-over 74. Beating Indiana teammates Alex Martin and Jorge Campillo by two shots, Henley claimed medalist honors for the second time in his collegiate career.

“Russell has been pretty solid this fall, so it was good to see him perform so well this week,” Haack said. “He works hard and he competes hard. Russell deserves this title.”

Georgia previously claimed Isleworth team titles in 2004, 2005 and 2007, while Chris Kirk (2004), Brian Harman (2006) and Harris English (2007) came away as medalists.

On Tuesday, English paced the Bulldogs with an even-par 72. Henley followed him at 2-over 74, while Harman and Hudson Swafford were at 3-over 75, and Adam Mitchell was at 6-over 78.

Swafford wound up fifth in the individual race at even-par 216. Harman took 14th at 4-over 220, while English was 18th at 6-over 222 and Mitchell was 64th at 17-over 233.

The Isleworth was the Bulldogs’ final tournament of the fall schedule. Georgia will return to action Feb. 27-March 1 in the Puerto Rico Shootout.
