TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-----Ohio State scored seven unanswered runs after falling behind 5-0 and went on to beat Georgia 13-6 Sunday in the Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium, eliminating the Bulldogs from the NCAA Tournament.

Georgia finishes the season with a 38-24 record while Ohio State (42-18) advances to face Florida State.

Freshman Zach Cone went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI to lead Georgia while Joey Lewis went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

"We didn't pitch well enough or play defense today," Georgia coach David Perno said. "When you get to this level, those two things are a must to give your team a chance. I thought the game changed in the seventh inning. We had a chance to score some runs and that was a big part of the game. You have to win those types of moments and we didn't today. We had a good year without a doubt, we just didn't play good enough today."

Cone homered on the second pitch of the game to give Georgia a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. In the second inning, Lewis singled off the right field wall to score Colby May from second and extend the lead to 2-0. Later in the inning Cone launched a three-run homer with two outs to make it 5-0.

Ohio State tagged Georgia starter Jeff Walters for three runs in the bottom of the second and the Buckeyes tied it on two more runs in the second including one on an inside-the-park home run by Michael Stephens.

The Buckeyes scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-5 lead.

Georgia came back in the sixth to cut the lead to one on a solo home run by Lewis. Cone led off the seventh with a base hit, then stole second and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Johnathan Taylor. A walk to Lyle Allen put runners on the corners with one out, but Jake Hale struck out Rich Poythress and got Bryce Massanari to ground out to get out of the jam.

Ohio State pulled away with six runs in the bottom of the seventh to go ahead 13-6 after a sacrifice fly by Michael Arp, a two-run double by Cory Kovanda and a three-run home run by Stephens.

Drew Rucinski (12-2) picked up the win for Ohio State while Will Harvil (4-3) was charged with the loss after allowing three runs--one earned--on four hits in two innings. Justin Earls tossed 2.2 innings in relief for the Bulldogs and allowed just one run.

Georgia committed three errors in the loss. With three more home runs Sunday, Georgia ends the season with a school record 109 home runs.
