ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia football team began preparations for its first Southeastern Conference home game by practicing for 90 minutes at the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday.

Tenth-ranked Georgia (5-0, 2-0 SEC) will entertain No. 13 Tennessee (4-1, 0-1) on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in a 7:45 p.m. contest. The Bulldogs are coming off a 14-9 win at Ole Miss. The Volunteers have recorded wins over California, Air Force, Marshall and Memphis, while their only loss was a 21-20 decision against Florida.

"Tennessee has a great team and we have a tremendous amount of respect for them," Georgia coach Mark Richt said Monday. "They are very talented and it shows on offense, defense and special teams. We know it's going to be a physical, 60-minute fight. We've got to work hard this week to get ready, and I think we started the week off right with a good practice today."

Senior quarterback Joe Tereshinski, who has missed most of the last four games with an ankle injury, was able to practice on Monday.

"I felt really good," Tereshinski said. "I was able to do really anything that we did without it bothering me. It's going to be 100 percent by Saturday; that's the way I'm preparing and that's the way I'm looking at it."

Said Richt, "I thought Joe looked good. He looked real comfortable. I thought he had a good practice."

Richt announced the captains for Saturday's game will be Nick Jones on offense, Quentin Moses and Tony Taylor on defense, and Thomas Brown on special teams.

Georgia will play Saturday at home against Tennessee. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. and the game will be televised by ESPN. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on AM 750 WSB in Atlanta and both 106.1 FM and 960 The Ref in Athens. Also, they can be heard on georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics.

On Monday, it was announced that defensive end Charles Johnson has been named the SEC's Defensive Lineman of the Week. The Hawkinsville native led the Bulldogs to the win at Ole Miss with four tackles, two sacks, one pass breakup and two third-down stops. He is the conference leader with nine tackles for loss this year and he leads the Bulldogs with 3.5 sacks. Georgia's defense limited Ole Miss to 243 total offensive yards on 57 plays and is currently ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring defense at 6.8 points per game. Johnson also was named the SEC's Defensive Player of the Week following Georgia's win at South Carolina.

Also Monday, CBS announced it has elected to use a six-day selection for games of Oct. 14, 2006. CBS will televise one of three games: Ole Miss at Alabama, Vanderbilt at Georgia or Kentucky at LSU. Lincoln Financial Sports will televise either Ole Miss at Alabama or Vanderbilt at Georgia based on selections by CBS. Based on the outcome of Saturday's games, all selections should be made by Sunday. The Florida-Auburn game was an ESPN priority selection and will be televised by ESPN at 7:45 p.m. ET.
