ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia freshman tailback Washaun Ealey has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, according to a league announcement on Monday.

Ealey, a 5-11, 205-pound native of Stillmore, Ga., recorded a career-high 98 yards on 18 carries (5.4 average) and a touchdown to help beat #25 Auburn 31-24. His one-yard scoring run in the third quarter capped an 82-yard drive and helped give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 17-14.

Led by Ealey's performance off the bench, the Bulldogs piled up 169 yards rushing versus the Tigers and have tallied a combined 473 during their last two victories. Ealey, who also had a six-yard reception in the fourth quarter, is Georgia's second-leading rusher with 379 yards and three touchdowns in only six games.

This is Ealey's first weekly conference. He is the second freshman to earn an SEC honor in as many weeks after defensive end Montez Robinson was named the league's Defensive Lineman of the Week following the Tennessee Tech game. This is the Bulldogs' eighth SEC weekly award this season.

The Bulldogs return to action versus Kentucky at Sanford Stadium in Athens on Saturday, Nov. 21. The game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.
