2007-08 (Junior Season): • Named Second-Team All-America by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America. • Chosen by Golfweek as a Second-Team All-American. • Named First-Team All-SEC in voting conducted by the league’s coaches. • Chosen for the United States Palmer Cup Team. • Named to the watch list for the 2008 Jack Nicklaus Award. • Helped the Bulldogs claim team titles at the Brickyard Collegiate, the Isleworth Invitational and the NCAA East Regional. • Chosen for the PING All-Southeast Region Team by the GCAA. • Named the recipient of the Jack Carlyle Fraser Endowed Scholarship. • Selected to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall and Spring Semesters.
2006-07 (Sophomore Season): • Named Honorable Mention All-American by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America. • Finished ninth at the NCAAs as the Bulldogs came in second. • Fired a career-low 5-under 65 in the second round. • Helped the Bulldogs win the Puerto Rico Classic, the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational, the U.S. Collegiate Championship, the Linger Longer Invitational and the NCAA East Regional.
2005-06 (Freshman Season): • Saw action in four events during his rookie season with Georgia. • Made his Bulldog and collegiate debut at the Isleworth Invitational and finished 22nd as Georgia claimed the team title. • Placed 27th in the Puerto Rico Classic, again helping the Bulldogs win the team title. • Played as an individual at the United States Collegiate Championship and the Linger Longer Invitational. • Was the recipient of the Robert E. Dicks III Endowed Athletic Scholarship.
Amateur/Junior Highlights: • Won the 2008 Porter Cup. • Qualified for the United States Amateur, • Finished eighth at the 2008 Northeast Amateur. • Won the 2004 Bubba Conlee National Tournament with a tournament-record 197 and course record 60. • Participated in the 2004 U.S. Amateur. • Tied for second at 2004 Southern Junior Championship. • Finished third at the 2003 Tennessee Junior Amateur. • Finished ninth at the 2005 AJGA Mizuno Junior. • Placed 10th at the 2005 MCI Junior Heritage. • Named 2004 Honorable Mention Rolex Junior All-American. • Placed 21st in the 2005 Bubba Conlee National Junior. • Was 20th at the 2004 HP Boys Junior Championship.
High School: • Graduated from The McCallie School. • Recorded a 16-0-2 record in match play. • Helped McCallie to its first state championship as a sophomore.
Personal: • Born Feb. 16, 1987. • Son of Jim and Farzana Mitchell. • His father lettered in baseball at Georgia in 1973, 1974 and 1975, helping the 1975 team claim the SEC East title. • Was born in Atlanta, but moved to Chattanooga when he was 14. • Majoring in Finance.
