FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- Georgia's track and field teams wrapped up their final regular season meet with several personal-best efforts at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday.

In addition, head coach Wayne Norton accompanied another Georgia crew to the Clemson Invitational and was optimistic about his teams' chances when the league championship arrives on Feb. 29.

"We didn't have anything spectacular, but we competed hard and had a decent showing," said Norton. "For the younger folks who are new to collegiate meets, I think this meet allowed our team to make progress toward the outdoor season and the (Southeastern Conference) Championships."

Georgia traveled a majority of its more experienced team members to Fayetteville and a majority of the Bulldogs continued their development toward the postseason.

After clocking a provisional time in the mile on Friday, senior Natalie Picchetti finished third in the championship 800 after clocking a 2:11.09. In the regular 800 race, sophomore Taylor Adams trimmed almost 3 seconds off of her personal-best effort to take 15th (2:14.10) and move to No. 10 on the school's all-time list.

Ross Ridgewell, Baron Brown, Kris Ward and Ryley Miller took the track later in the night and broke the school record in the distance medley relay after clocking a 9:52.73. The foursome finished seventh overall and topped the school record by .32 seconds, which was set at the 1999 Southeastern Conference Championships.

Junior Julianne Toto continued her improvement in the pole vault after tying for fourth in the event. She registered a career-best indoor mark of 12 feet, 6 inches, which bumped her from the No. 6 spot to a tie for the No. 5 spot.

Freshman Jamaal Parker, a Macon, Ga., native who transferred to the Bulldogs from King College, also had a career day in Fayetteville, Ark. Parker soared 50-1.75, broke into the top-10 list (No. 10) and finished fifth.

In the men's high jump, sophomore Daniel Averso matched his outdoor personal-best mark of 6-8.75 and tied for third in the event.

In addition, Hyleas Fountain, who was a four-time NCAA champion for Georgia during the 2003 and 2004 seasons, finished fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.13.
