OXFORD, Miss. - The Georgia volleyball dropped a three-set, Southeastern Conference match to Ole Miss at the Gillom Sports Complex on Friday evening.

Ole Miss earned the shutout victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-20 to split the season series with Georgia. The Bulldogs won the first meeting in Athens in October, 3-1. With Friday evening's win, Ole Miss improved to 10-19 overall and 3-15 in SEC play on the year while Georgia fell to 15-14 overall and 6-12 in league action.

Courtney Cunningham and Whitney Craven paced the Rebels to a .385 hitting percentage in the match. Cunningham posted a match-best 16 kills on a .750 clip, and Craven added 10 kills at a .364 mark.

Georgia hit at .191 and was led in the contest by its starting middle hitters. Junior Valentina Gonzalez recorded a team-best 10 kills with no errors on 15 attempts for a.667 hitting percentage while sophomore Ann Dylla contributed six kills on a .417 clip.

On the defensive side the net, sophomore libero Carla Tietz led the match in digs with 13, but Ole Miss had a slight upper hand overall in the category at 38-33. The Rebels also held a slim lead in blocks at 5.0-4.0, and Cunningham and Dylla tied for the match lead in blocks with three stops apiece.

Also of note for the Bulldogs, sophomore setter Kathleen Gates provided 27 assists to eclipse the 1,000 mark for the second straight season. Gates' season total now stands at 1,022.

Up next, Georgia travels to Fayetteville, Ark., for a match with the Arkansas Razorbacks (13-16, 7-11 SEC). First serve at Barnhill Arena is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
