ATHENS, Ga. --- The UGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is holding a clothing drive to benefit Project Safe before two upcoming home basketball games. Student-athletes will be stationed at Ticket Booths 1 and 5 two hours before the men’s basketball game vs. St. Louis on Dec. 2 and the women’s basketball game vs. Georgia Tech on Dec. 6. They will accept gently used clothing items, and fans that donate one item of gently used clothing will receive one voucher for one discounted ticket (limit one coupon per person and offer valid while ticket supplies last).

The SAAC serves as a forum for communication between student-athletes, conference administrators, institutional representatives and coaches in order to discuss and take action on various issues, while also striving to provide community service.

Project Safe, a non-profit organization founded in Athens, Ga., works to end domestic violence through prevention and education, crisis intervention, ongoing support and systems change.

If you would like additional information about Project Safe, please visit their website at http://www.project-safe.org/Home.html and for more information about the clothing drive please contact Lesley Black, Associate Director for Student Services, at 706-542-9103.
