Athens, Ga. --- Georgia Bulldog basketball coach Mark Fox will host his inaugural coaches' clinic on Saturday, October 24 at Stegeman Coliseum from 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Scholastic basketball coaches from all levels are invited to register and attend the day-long clinic. The schedule includes lectures by members of the Bulldog coaching staff, as well as demonstrations that revolve around two of Georgia's pre-season practices that day.
"As a staff we are excited to offer the opportunity to share philosophies with the basketball coaches around Georgia," Fox said. "Our clinic is a terrific setting in which to meet and get to know as many coaches as possible. We're really looking forward to it."
Fox became the 21st head basketball coach in UGA history on April 3, 2009. The native Kansan arrived in Athens after five successful seasons in a similar capacity at the University of Nevada, which played in the postseason in each of those five years. During Fox's tenure as head coach, Nevada won at least 21 games each season, won or shared four straight Western Athletic Conference titles and played in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments.
The clinic itinerary includes the following lecture topics: "Developing an Offensive Philosophy," "Handling Special Situations in a Game," and "Drills to Develop Players in the Off-Season."
Cost for the clinic is $15 and the fee covers both lunch and dinner. The itinerary for the clinic follows:
